Quotations:

I’m only rich because I know when I’m wrong…  I basically have survived by recognizing my mistakes.

-        GEORGE SOROS

George Soros born August 12, 1930, is a Hungarian-born American business magnate, investor, and philanthropist. He is the chairman of Soros Fund Management. He is known as “The Man Who Broke the Bank of England” because of his short sale of US$10 billion  worth  of pounds, giving  him a profit  of $1 billion during the 1992 Black Wednesday UK currency  crisis. Soros is one of the thirty richest people in the world.

Economic history is a never-ending  series of episodes based on falsehoods and lies, not truths .  It represents the path to big money . The object is to recognize the trend whose premise is false, ride that trend and step off before it is discredited .

If investing is entertaining, if you’re having fun, you’re probably not making any money .  Good investing is boring .

The financial markets generally are unpredictable .  So that one has to have different scenarios… The idea that you can actually predict what’s going to happen contradicts my way of looking at the market .

Markets are constantly in a state of uncertainty and flux, and money is made by discounting the obvious and betting on the unexpected .

The worse a situation becomes, the less it takes to turn it around, and the bigger the upside.

Stock market bubbles don’t grow out of thin air . They have a solid basis in reality, but reality as distorted by a misconception .

I contend that financial markets never reflect the underlying reality accurately; they always distort it in some way or another and the distortions find expression in market prices .

Unfortunately, the more complex the system, the greater the room for error .
